Dot

A menu bar calendar with meeting alerts, Apple Reminders, and quick event creation.

Dot is a native macOS menu bar calendar that puts your schedule, Apple Reminders, and upcoming meetings within easy reach. It reads calendars already connected to Apple's Calendar app, including iCloud, Google, Outlook, and Exchange, so there's no separate Dot account to manage.

Plan from the menu bar

Browse your agenda or switch between month and week views without opening a full calendar window. Dot also lets you:

  • Create and edit events using natural language, including recurring schedules and locations.
  • Search events by title, notes, location, or attendees through a keyboard-driven Command Bar.
  • Create, complete, and snooze Apple Reminders alongside calendar events.
  • Customize the menu bar with your next event, countdowns, clocks, world times, and day or year progress.

Meeting reminders and quick joining

Dot detects Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Webex links in events, with support for custom meeting services. Floating or fullscreen reminders provide a join button before calls. It can surface documents linked in invitations and offer a camera and microphone check before joining.

Setup, privacy, and limits

Dot requires macOS 13 Ventura or later and runs on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It needs Calendar permission to show events; Reminders, camera, and microphone permissions are requested separately when relevant. Calendar and reminder data are read from the Mac rather than uploaded to a Dot server, though calendar providers still handle syncing, and license checks, updates, and location searches use external services.

Dot cannot add meeting invitees directly; use Apple Calendar or your calendar provider for that. Offline access uses the Mac's locally cached events, with changes syncing when a connection returns.

The full-featured trial lasts 14 days without a credit card. Continuing requires a $14.99 one-time license, including updates and activation on up to three Macs.
