Klack
Add customizable mechanical keyboard sounds to your Mac as you type.
Klack is a macOS menu-bar app that adds mechanical-keyboard sound effects to everyday typing. It plays sounds when keys are pressed and released, bringing switch-like audio feedback to a MacBook or other keyboard without changing the hardware.
Switch sounds and tuning
Choose from switch sets including Japanese Black, Cream, Oreo, Cardboard, Milky Yellow, and Super Red. Randomized pitch makes repeated keystrokes sound less identical, while the Tone Pad lets users adjust the character of a selected sound. Klack also offers spatial audio with AirPods and a choice of audio output devices.
Controls for everyday typing
- Toggle effects, switch sound sets, and adjust volume from the menu bar.
- Configure sleep triggers to mute Klack automatically, including under selected calendar or audio-output conditions.
- View usage statistics and control functions through AppleScript or a Raycast extension.
Klack requires macOS 15.0 or later. Its keyboard feedback needs system permission to detect key activity; the developer's Mac App Store privacy disclosure says no data is collected. The US Mac App Store price is a one-time $4.99 purchase, with regional pricing varying. Klack adds sound, not physical key feel or quieter hardware.
